ESCAP – in collaboration with the National Youth Commission of the Philippines Government – convened the Philippines National Workshop to Test and Apply the Youth Policy Toolbox, in Manila, on 28 and 29 June 2017. The Workshop, the final one of three in Asia and the Pacific under the interregional project “Strengthening the capacity of Governments in ESCAP, ECA and ESCWA to respond to the needs of youth in formulating inclusive and sustainable development policies”, was attended by over 20 participants. The participants represented government agencies and youth-led civil society organizations from various parts of the Philippines. Presentations took place on the situation and challenges of youth in the county, with specific reference to the transition from school to work, as well as ways forward.
